I wanted to begin my graduation photo series with the theme of Resilience because each of these photos represent the overcoming of obstacles that I faced during my college career. I knew that I wanted to create something that would represent my four-year journey.

 

I decided to design and construct this garment from individual ties, which represent me taking the pieces that I was given and creating a beautiful college experience. I wanted to style the garment in two ways,  formal for classic graduation headshots and more streetwear leaning for the outdoor shots.

I also constructed a satin graduation cap to incorporate more maroon as a tribute to my alma mater.
