Commencement

act iv:

For the fourth and final act of my graduation series, I chose the theme of commencement because every mental, physical, or emotional test that came with college. With nothing left to do but claim the prize I'd worked so hard to obtain.

Inspired by Louis Gabriel Nouchi FW23, this look to me symbolizes air and how important it is to breathe. I ultimately decided to wear white because I've always felt that it was "on-theme" to wear white to graduation. As a 2020 high school graduate, this look is also a nod to my high school graduation that was a drive-thru ceremony due to COVID-19.

My custom stole was outlined in mirror ball pieces as a symbol of the overall title and theme of the series, Renaissance. The contents of the stole cover my involvement throughout my four years in the colors of my alma mater.
